The Child I've Been

Its just like yesterday when all is young,
The world is like a picture drawn in the sand,
And the clouds are like cotton candy floating above,
Innocent of hate, all knowledge is love.

As I look back its like light years away,
The last time when fun did came my way,
Back then I see the world in a different view,
When all the colors are all of bright hue.

Is being carefree now a kind of sin?
For I miss so much the child I've been,
When playing in the rain is an act of glee,
When the stars above is a view one must see.

Those moments when I look at the sky,
And wonder if someday I'll have the chance to fly,
To roll in the hills where the grass are green,
And play to the hearts desire until the sun gets dim.

Those are the times that I wish I can return,
To be a child again before I crash and burn,
To have an escape in this excuse called life,
To be free again of hatred, loneliness and strife.
